Common plastic types related to the material of casters

ABS: Commonly known as engineering plastic, it can be used for connectors, seat backs, and seat panels. It is the main raw material for electroplating (water plating) in plastics.

ABS: Commonly known as engineering plastic, it can be used for connectors, seat backs, and seat panels. It is the main raw material for electroplating (water plating) in plastics.

PP: Commonly known as polypropylene, used for five-star feet, armrests, foot pads, and connectors with low strength requirements. Disadvantages: Poor wear resistance and low surface hardness.

PVC: Commonly known as polyvinyl chloride, mainly used for edge sealing and insertion conditions. It is suitable for extrusion molding, and PVC material is a non combustible material in plastic parts, with poor temperature stability during processing and molding, especially in terms of color stability.

PU: Commonly known as polyurethane. Mainly used for armrest (foam) accessories.

POM: Commonly known as Saigang. Mainly used for wear-resistant parts such as foot mats, casters, door hinges, hinges, etc. Performance is wear-resistant, pressure resistant, but dimensional stability is poor.

PA: Commonly known as nylon. Mainly used as foot pads, five-star claws, casters and other wear-resistant and high life requirements. Features: Wear resistance, pressure resistance, high strength, long indoor service life. Some models, such as PA66, can withstand high temperatures up to 2200. The disadvantages are that it is easy to change performance, break, and has poor weather resistance when exposed to sunlight.

PMMA: Organic glass (commonly known as acrylic). There are five types of transparent materials in plastic, and PMMA is one of the most transparent. When cutting workpieces, there is a vinegar smell, and processing deformation is easy. Soaking in boiling water can shape and bend them. Disadvantages: The surface is prone to scratches, the hardness is low, and it is easy to crack when bent. The price is more than 20% higher than ABS.

PC: Commonly known as polycarbonate. This variety also belongs to transparent materials, with high surface hardness, scratch resistance, strong impact resistance, high strength, and good weather resistance (i.e. not afraid of sunlight exposure). The screen partition and sunlight board in furniture are hollow extruded from this material. Features: The price and cost are high, about 40% higher than PMMA.
